70!????????????✅
Sometimes things just sneak up on you!
There I was, very busy but minding my own business, in my 40’s. And suddenly, I turn around and I am 70!
Just where did all that time go?
Of course, reaching the biblical three score years and ten is great. Maybe I don’t run as much, maybe very long days are just a touch more tiring. But honestly, I am not feeling much else different. Is this ‘old age’?
So, for all you young un’s out there, here is a short post about life’s journey…
First, family is the most important thing. I always knew it, but too often work got in the way. Today I know – even more strongly – this is true.
If you have children, cherish the time and those little one-on-ones. You won’t get them back again. Sometimes I failed in this regard – and you really don’t get that time back.
Work through hard times. Enjoy good times.
Moments are worth far more than belongings. Always…
Enjoy sunrise, sunset, wind, rain, warm weather, and snow. All of it is great!
Work? If you truly love it, why would you stop? If you are helping others, even more so.
Maybe you have lost 5% of your sharpness, BUT at the same time, you have gained more experience and time to learn.
I can still remember – literally like it was yesterday – walking into my induction course first day in Olivetti – in early 1977. I had worked in an office up till then. Little did I know that I had found my vocation. Over the past 47 years I have learned almost every day, I got everything wrong, and slowly but surely, I learned. Giant corporations, smaller fast-growing businesses, start-ups, in over 25 countries, and in oh so many different market sectors. From door-to-door selling (so much fun! ????♂️), to high-end sales, to leading teams, to leading businesses both small and large.
Now is the time for me to share that experience and knowledge – and I am loving doing it!
To all who know me – thank you! And I am not finished – by quite a long way, I think.
As proof, you will soon see me announce a new, pretty unique programme to help everyone in sales/sale leadership who faces a difficult problem or challenge – one on one…
Now, excuse me. Off for a couple of days chilling!
